TATE THURSDAY!

Tate Britain

Beginning of Mike Nelsons - Coral Leaf

Mike Nelson's Coral Leaf was literally a maze. In order to leave you entered a room that was almost an exact replica of the room you first traversed, confusing me so much I had to exit from where I entered. Each room represented a different socio-economic and socio-political interior landscape. His representation of a fragile belief system that creates a larger "Coral Reef" is experienced through all senses - Sight; Sound; Smell; Touch; Emotionally. An exquisite installation that is truly effective in causing viewers to physically experience the work.
